Brenda L. Freeman, Director of Claims Management, is responsible for the management of Advocate, MD’s claims and
litigation. She has diverse experience in law, education, claims, and litigation management.
Background
Mrs. Freeman has practiced law in Georgia and Tennessee, focusing on civil litigation, products liability,
professional liability and insurance defense. After moving to Texas, she focused on education and training,
and taught at Lamar University in Beaumont for several years. Mrs. Freeman also opened the first paralegal
school in the Rio Grande Valley. For the past 14 years, she has been responsible for claims and litigation
management in the employment and professional liability areas. She has developed and presented numerous
seminars on professional liability.
In November 2004, Mrs. Freeman began managing the claims and litigation for Advocate, MD. In April
2006 she accepted the position of Director of Claims Management, and since then has been instrumental
in the development of Advocate, MD’s claims and litigation policies and procedures.
Mrs. Freeman graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from Georgia College and holds
a Juris Doctorate (JD) from Walter F. George School of Law, Mercer University in Georgia.
